Harbour Control

Harbour control is located at Stony Point, and is contactable 24/7 on phone number 0428 549 235

Vessels underway or at anchor within the port or in the vicinity of the port, must maintain a continuous listening watch on VHF channel 14 & 16. Ship Masters, agents and visitors to the Port of Hastings should contact the Duty Harbour Master on 0428 549 235 for all information concerning commercial shipping and for instructions on movements of vessels.


The Commercial Shipping Channels of the Port of Hastings are the responsibility of the Port Authority - Patrick Ports - Hastings and are under direct control of the Harbour Master. The Victorian Regional Channels Authority oversees the channel licences for the Port of Hastings.

Port Manager

Under the Port of Hastings Management Agreement, daily port operations are the responsibility of Patrick Ports-Hastings (a division of Asciano Ltd).
Patricks’ management includes Long Island Point, Crib Point and Stony Point jetties and approaches, as well as shipping movements to and from the Steel Wharves.
Under the terms of the Port Management Agreement, Patricks is required to maintain the condition of the property and infrastructure within the Port of Hastings except, except for the Jetties at the Steel Wharves (owned by BlueScope Steel).

Safety 

As part of the Port Management Act 1995 , all Victorian port managers are responsible for preparing and certifying a Safety and Environment Management Plan (SEMP). These plans help port managers, tenants, licensees and service providers to identify and manage potential hazards and risks that may affect a port and its surrounding area.
